What:

The Gardner Bros & Parker downdraft kiln is a survivor of a much larger ceramics industry on the site including adjacent clay pits. The chimney that once provided the draft to the kiln has long gone.

Gardner and Parker were taken over by others, The last owner, Ambrico is a name sometimes applied to the kiln.

What else to do there:

Visit the adjacent Portage Ceramics Trust museum which has ceramics collections from the former industry in the area, particularly Crown Lynn as well as some relics from the industry.

Corban Estates Arts Center is nearby.
