This collection of Greek, Etruscan, Cypriot, Egyptian and like classical ceramic vessels and other objects is a surprisingly fine one so far from its centre of origin. It is a growing collection. It is housed in Christchurch - in the Logie Room of the Classics Department of the University of Canterbury. It is open between 9 am and 5 pm during the university term. Guided tours are available a few times a year.

"The James Logie Memorial Collection of Antiquities has been taken off display, and will be kept in secure storage until aftershocks from the September 2010 earthquake have abated and items damaged during the earthquake have been conserved."

"Public access to the Collection has been suspended until further notice."
